There is an organized campaign to target Sudan, Africa’s largest country — “Sudan faces destabilization” (Crescent, June ’09). Even though Christians constitute a tiny minority — 5% — of Sudan’s total population, the Western media deliberately peddles the lie about the “south being Christian.”
Similarly the situation in Darfur is deliberately misrepresented to allege that an officially sanctioned genocide is underway. While there is undoubted suffering, it is not genocide. It is another attempt by the West to pressure Sudan. This has now been intensified by charging Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir with war crimes. Why not the warlords in Washington or Tel Aviv?
